Before obtaining her doctorate in clinical psychology from Pepperdine University,
Dr. Fielding studied and conducted research on the psychobiological effects of
stress on cognition and emotion at UCLA and Harvard. A diverse background in
training and experience informs her holistic approach to treating clients. Dr.
Fielding works with groups and individuals suffering from the effects of traumatic
experiences, anxiety and mood disorders. Dr. Fielding specializes in cognitive
behavioral approaches which incorporate mindfulness-based interventions.
These “third wave” CBT treatments aim to increase client distress tolerance and
effectiveness in achieving their stated life goals. Working with Dr. Fielding, clients
learn concrete skills to better manage difficult emotions in the face of stressful life
situations. With these cognitive and emotional skills in place, clients are guided
towards personal values consistent behavioral change.
