Associate Clinical Social Worker

Lisa Gilbar obtained her B.A. from Smith College in Massachusetts, and her MSW
from New York University. She also spent a year studying at Williams College.  In
addition to her status as Associate Clinical Social Worker in California, Lisa is a
Licensed Master Social Worker in New York State.

Lisa began her training in clinical social work as a school counselor at the Lower
Manhattan Arts Academy in New York City, where she worked with adolescents
on goal setting, coping with anxiety and depression, and understanding emotions.
She continued her training at New York University’s Counseling and Wellness
Services. There, she worked individually with undergraduate and graduate
students coping with anxiety, depression, adjustment, obsessive compulsive
disorder, and more. She received additional training in Cognitive Behavioral
Therapy and co-led a group using CBT to treat anxiety.

Lisa currently works with adolescents and adults suffering from anxiety and mood
disorders. She believes in the collaborative process of Cognitive Behavioral
Therapy and offers a supportive and encouraging environment in which clients
can focus on the change they desire in their lives.
